Bayshore Gardens is a planned community and census-designated place of 19,904 people (2020 Census), home to the State College of Florida's Bradenton campus. Its homes are mostly single-story concrete block ranches on slab from the 1950s and 1960s, and many still have terrazzo floors. Terrazzo is expensive to cut and match, which makes lining or tunneling the preferred way to reach the cast iron drain underneath.

Cast Iron Pipe Replacement in Bayshore Gardens — Local Notes
- Drains under terrazzo. Cutting terrazzo leaves a visible patch, so tunneling or lining is preferred.
- Worn main drain. The main drain often shows a worn bottom after 60 years.
- Root intrusion outside. Yard trees send roots into the sewer line joints.
- Repeat clogs. Rust scale narrows the drains until they clog often.
